Renting LEGO sets: How it Works
How does renting LEGO sets work? Below we explain the rules for renting and returning our sets.
Making a reservation |
A set can be rented for at least a week. When ordering, we ask for some personal information. These details will not be passed on to third parties.
An e-mail is sent out in which we indicate the rental period, the set and the price. So there are no surprises afterwards! Your reservation only starts with the receipt of the set (or delivery to your home or to a DPD Pickup Shop) and ends with the handover by you to DPD, so you can make full use of the rental period. Please note that our website is only meant for private bookings and we limit the number of sets that can be ordered simultaneously. |
Shipping |
All our sets are shipped directly to your home. The sets are shipped with DPD. A return slip from DPD will be enclosed for the return shipment, making it free of charge for you. A tracking code will be sent to you by e-mail after handing over to DPD. The sets are disassembled and sorted into plastic boxes that can be used for storage during the rental period. As a shipment does not always go as planned, there are two simple rules:
We charge a small fee per reservation for sending the set (return shipment):
Sets can be booked up to 5 days before the start of the rental. Please note that shipping times may vary. We try to ensure timely delivery, but guaranteeing an exact delivery date is not possible. See the policy above for late deliveries
|
Receiving the Set |
Sets are delivered to your home address. Not at home to receive your shipment? No problem, DPD will drop your set at the nearest DPD Pickup point.
Please note: it is possible to give different delivery instructions to DPD. We strongly advise against leaving the set in a safe location. DPD will not accept responsibility if anything goes wrong during the delivery or if the set goes missing. In this case, you will be liable for the cost of replacing the set. |
Dismantling the set |
The sets must be completely dismantled for return shipment:

Lost Parts |
Individual bricks can always get lost, we are aware of that. That is why we are generally very generous and do not charge you for missing bricks. However, to protect us against abuse, we have arranged in our terms and conditions that the loss of up to 30 bricks is covered and therefore free of charge to you. This cover only extends to standard bricks. Lost or damaged minifigs, manuals, electronic components will still be charged. Some sets may also parts that are labelled as unique. These parts cannot be replaced and if lost we may need to charge for the replacement of the entire set. Please note that you are responsible for damage, loss or theft of the set while it is in your possession. This period starts from the moment DPD delivers the set, until you return it at a DPD point. Any damage beyond the loss of bricks described above may be charged. All sets are assumed to be in perfect condition when delivered. If you do notice any damage to the set when it is delivered, notify us immediately (within 24 hours).

Returning the Set |
To return the set, dismantle it, sort and pack the bricks into the grip bags. When all the grip bags are in the box, secure the box with the colson straps and stick the included return label on the lid.

Extending the Rental Period |
You are not finished building and want to extend the rental period? Please note that we cannot guarantee that an extension is possible. If the set has already been booked, we cannot extend your rental period. |
Missing Bricks |
We do our utmost to keep our sets complete. However, it may happen that you cannot find a brick while building. If you cannot locate a brick, it is usually perfectly possible to continue building. We do ask that you report any missing bricks on the form included with your set. Please note the number of the missing part (can be found in the back of the building instructions) and number of missing parts. Nevertheless, it is possible that an essential brick is missing. In this case, please send an e-mail to contact@lend-a-brick.com or use the contact form on our website. Include the number of the missing brick in your e-mail. You will find all numbers on the last pages of the building instructions. If essential bricks are missing, we will send them to you and extend the rental period. If we cannot provide the missing parts in a timely manner, we will contact you to find a solution. Please note that we can only provide this service for essential parts. This means parts that prevent you from continuing to build and cannot be omitted with minor changes to the construction. |
